How to Budget Your Salary in Dubai
A practical Dubai salary budget starts with net income, fixed commitments and monthly reserves for annual bills.
Start with your actual take-home salary
Use the amount deposited into your bank account, not the gross figure in an employment offer. If your household has more than one income, decide whether to combine incomes or plan them separately.
Separate monthly spending from annual commitments
List groceries, utilities, transport and debt repayments. Then include annual rent, school fees, car insurance, renewals and flights home. Divide predictable annual costs by 12 to estimate the amount to set aside every month.
Assign a job to the remaining money
After essentials and minimum debt payments, allocate funds toward upcoming bills, an emergency buffer and additional debt repayments. If the total exceeds your salary, reduce flexible expenses or revisit commitments.
Review after each salary payment
Compare the plan with actual spending and update it when bills or household circumstances change.
